Insurance form

All participants should have their own travel insurance; this can be arranged at any insurance company or online at any given time before departure.

We also advise you to take out a cancellation insurance. We have had cancellations and the reason is never a positive one. In that case it is a reassurance if the costs are covered at least. We can arrange the cancellation insurance for you. There are two basic options to choose from:

  • Standard Cancellation
  • Allrisk Cancellation

Cancellation insurance covers situations where you need to cancel a tour before depature, or if you have to break off the trip during the tour. Cancellation insurance only applies in case of unforseen events. Any circumstances that were already known before taking out cancellation insurance are not covered.

Standard cancellation covers (standard) events, as mentioned in the insurance terms & conditions. Such as medical reasons why you can't travel, serious illness or death in your direct family (parents, brothers/sisters, your children), losing your job, etc. If you need to cancel due to any of the reasons mentioned in the terms & conditions, 100% of your cancellation costs are covered. If it is for different reasons, you are not covered.

All risk cancellation covers 100% of your cancellation costs in case of cancellation for reasons mentioned in the terms & conditions of the insurance, but it also covers 75% of your costs in case you have to cancels for other reasons. They still need to be urgent reasons for cancellation (like illness of a dear friend or pet, or a calamity at work, etc. Bad weather, or "you just feel like going home" won't be accepted). And they still need to be unforseen events, but with this insurance either 75% or 100% of the costs made will be refunded to you. A comforting thought.

Compensation of unused travel days, in case you need to cancel during the tour:
In case of hospitalization (min. 1 night) during your trip:

for each missed day you get a "fee per day" (= tour fee divided by the total days of the trip)

for each missed day you get a "fee per day" (= tour fee divided by the total days of the trip)
In case you need to break off your tour half way, due to reasons mentioned in the terms & conditions for each missed day you get a "fee per day" (= tour fee divided by the total days of the trip) for each missed day you get a "fee per day" (= tour fee divided by the total days of the trip)
In case you need to break off your tour half way, due to urgent reasons of your own not covered 75% of the cancellation costs

There is also the possibility to add a care taker to the insurance. This can be for instance someone that takes care of your business while you are away, someone that looks after your house or animals, a family member of the third degree or a non-travelling dear friend. Should something happen to that person, you are entitled to cancel your trip (or cancel halfway through it).

What does a cancellation cost?
- Insurance costs: 5,5% of the full participation fee (if you choose standard cancellation) OR
- Insurance costs: 7% of the full participation fee (if you choose all-risk cancellation)

- Care taker insurance: an additional 1% of the full participation fee
- Administrative costs: €3,50
- 21% insurance tax on insurance costs and administrative costs
